More Mayhem from Mythic: Mysterious Messages Abound, Attempts to Decipher Ensue

Can I murder you? Err...be your Valentine?

Can I murder you? Err...be your Valentine?

I recently posted on how cool I thought it was that Mythic put forth the effort to reach out to their community in a unique way, to announce the coming of the Slayer and the Choppah to Warhammer Online. No, that hasn't officially been announced, but I'm going to take the chance and make that call. The clues are there and obvious to me, so I'm calling it like I see it. They'll officially announce these two new classes coming to the game on the 29th of January, (or they'll announce something else then, but the 29th has been mentioned by them) likely with another in game event to introduce these classes.

Well, that wasn't the only cryptic message that Mythic has been sending out the community. There has been another set of mysterious messages sent by Mythic to various blog sites, showing a Valentine-esque card with a poetic rhyme. There have been some cryptic numbers on the cards, which some have tried to decipher. The current theory about all this right now is that Mythic is using these cards as a way to hint at the announcement of a Valentines day related event, centered around something in Warhammer Lore called "Death Night" or "Murder Night", where Witch Elves steal people from the streets and sacrifice them to their God. Until more is uncovered or officially announced (on the 29th also?) we'll just have to wait to be able to confirm exactly what this is all about. Until then, have fun following the hints.

The following cards have turned up so far, with more sure to come:

Interesting stuff, especially if you begin to read all the theories in the comments at those sites. On a side note, both Helik and Scarybooster here at AWoT were contacted by Mythic, perhaps they have packages incoming too? Go check those mailboxes fellas!

** Update: Scarybooster did in fact receive his card, and Brooke at the The Greenskin finally got his also. Both guys got theirs late, after Mythic officially announced Murder Night.

It is pretty fun :)

I'm sure Mythic will be spreading the blogger love around with their list, if not this time.

I want a postcard! I got a request for my address and sent one back giving them a work address, asking them if its okay. Also let them know that I moved to AWoT... Never got a response to that.

Maybe I type too much!! Either way, I'm pretty stoked about this event. Valentines day murder fest perhaps? True WAR theme.

You're sick Mr. Jacobs. JUST SICK!

3 blogs left unamed at this time and Wall of Text blog yet to report his numbers/letter

Is this what everyone else has or am I incorrect anywhere?

@messenger
I have not been contacted by Mythic, so I don't have a card and therefore have no numbers to report. However, Scarybooster and Helik both reported that they were contacted by Mythic, (I guess to get their mailing addresses?) so perhaps they have packages incoming. If/when they get theirs, I'm sure they'll report them here.

I think I read somewhere that 13 were mailed out, and we have 7 shown above. 6 more should be arriving in mailboxes soon, just not mine.

Sorry, I got your website from the Herald, and assumed yours was one.

The other blogs are reporting these numbers and letters thatI posted here, I can not confirm some of them so I can only assume that there are blogs that are not posted on the Herald that have received letters.

But you know what happens when you Assume!

@messenger
Interesting. I assume they linked to us because Helik or Scarybooster must have something coming in the mail. Like I said, I personally was never contacted so they don't have my address to mail me anything. I expect that Helik and/or Scarybooster probably have one incoming and just haven't gotten it yet. Helik did tell them that he was an author here now so they probably just put up the link knowing that when he or scary gets theirs they'll be posting it here :)

Anyone notice that a lot of the letters in the text have been changed to resemble numbers? A's look like 2's t's like 7's u's like 4? etc...

I ran it thru the anagram and if you look at the thing that anonymous put there s t n i h t n e v e r a w comes up with a quite a few things. but War Events Hint is a prominent one. I think this is just a prelude to the next big event. lets just wait and see what mythic says about this when they finally give it to us.

war event ninth

Winner?

you got it Oozx. Its read backswards & starts on Feb. 9th. If thats the case & lasts 7 days it will end on the Night of Murder. IMO

So the 2 popular answers are that it spells (backwards in both cases)

War Event Hints (13 letters and matches what we have so far)

and

War Event Ninth (same thing)

I'm leaning towards a War evet starting Monday the 9th of February going thru Friday the 13th (Night of Murder) and all tieing in with Valentines day the 14th explaining the LOVELY valentines you all got.

Just my opinion.
