The environments look really well done, and those boss encounters look like they will feel very epic. Throw in the threat of being overrun by the opposition and this could be the recipe for fun Warhammer Online has been needing. Land of the Dead has been compared to something Mythic did in DAoC called Darkness Falls, which was well received, so here's to hoping it has the same (if not better) effect on WAR. Time to hit the account center to re-activate!

Warhammer Online: The Land of the Dead Calls Me (Video)
by br3ntbr0
Warhammer Online has been a bit of a revolving door for me. I've been in love with it, then frustrated to tears, then disappointed and back to liking it. This has happened a few times, and by the looks of the content shown at G4TV via the videos below, it will happen again. At least the me playing it again will happen, lets just hope the part where I unsubscribe again doesn't happen. This time, I'm thinking about dusting off my Goblin Shaman and making the run to 40 since I'm only at lvl 35. I simply find myself really wanting to try to explore this great looking new content as shown in the clips below:

blog comments powered by DisqusMy problem with this is that end game content isn't enough of a carrot for me to slog through the rest of a poor game (any game, it's one of the big reasons that I stopped playing WoW). Mid-game content for WAR is too sparse. I got my character to level 29 before I burned out on the game and stopped playing, when it first released. Logged back in a few weeks back and ran into a lot of the same problems. Dozens of empty PQs that can't be soloed past stage one. Scenarios that either dont pop or do pop but shut down halfway through because or realm imbalance. And Open RVR, which is good, is a roll of the dice as to whether or not anyone is going to be doing it on any given night.
Leveling in WAR is comparatively easier than nearly every other MMO out there. Since release they've significantly bumped up the XP for quests in Tier 3 (which was a bit grindy on release) and also the XP off of scenarios has increased.
Every server is different but on Darklands T3 oRvR is a nightly occurance afaik, and in T4 it happens every day. Darklands isn't even a high pop server (its oceanic) so I can't even imagine what the activity levels are like on some of the high pop NA servers.
My advice would be to hit 30, move into T4 and do the quests there whilst queueing scenarios, during primetime you should get pops (but it doesn't guarentee you will win). Dabbling in a bit of oRvR on your way to 40 is good for a break, but like most MMOs the game doesn't really start till you do hit the level cap.
